Biotechnology has emerged as an interdisciplinary field that draws together Combination of Engineering, Molecular Chemistry, Genetics, Bio-Chemistry, Microbiology, and Mathematics.

Industrial biotechnology includes modern application of biotechnology for sustainable processing and production of chemical products, materials and fuels. Biotechnological processing uses enzymes and microorganisms to produce products that are useful to a broad range of industrial sectors, including chemical and pharmaceutical, human and animal nutrition, pulp and paper, textiles, energy, materials and polymers, using renewable raw materials.

Mechanical engineering technology is the application of engineering principles and technological developments to new and existing manufacturing systems. Mechanical engineering technologists work with engineers in designing, testing, and manufacturing mechanical equipment or systems. There are many employment opportunities in mechanical design, manufacturing and industrial engineering technology, industrial management, computer aided design, applied research and sales and service.

Applications in Robotics, Automobiles and Nano Technology with Software tools such as Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) are often used to analyze parts and assemblies. 3D models can be made to represent parts and assemblies with computer-aided design (CAD) software. Through the application of computer-aided manufacturing (CAM), models may also be used directly by software to create "instructions" for the manufacture of objects represented by the models, through computer numerically controlled (CNC) machining or other automated processes.
